National Moscow Mule Day

Today we're raising a glass to our favorite holiday of the year -- National Moscow Mule Day. Since 1874, Barritt's Ginger Beer has been the go-to mixer for a number of drinks, but when this beloved cocktail made its way into inception in 1941, Barritt's took on a whole new purpose in bars across the globe. The truth is, we've never met a Moscow Mule we didn't like, but with so many different flavor combinations... can you blame us? Whether you're celebrating today or are like us here at Barritt's and celebrate National Moscow Mule Day every day, these recipes are sure to become a staple in your rotation.

Blue Mule via Anna's Entitled Life

Ingredients:

1/2 oz. Fresh lime juice

2 oz. Tito's Vodka

1 oz. Dekuyper Blue Curacao

3 oz. Barritt's Ginger Beer 

8 Sugar-dusted blueberries

1 lime wheel

Crushed ice

Directions:

Combine lime juice, vodka and blue curacao into a copper mug. Top with Barritt's Ginger Beer and add in crushed ice. Garnish with sugar-dusted blueberries and a lime wheel.

Barritt's Moscow Mule

Ingredients:

2 oz. Tito's Vodka

1 oz. Fresh lime juice

4 oz. Barritt's Ginger Beer

1 Lime wheel

Directions:

Combine lime juice and vodka in a copper mug. Top with Barritt's Ginger Beer before garnishing with a lime wheel.

Brown Sugar + Roasted Pineapple Mule via Creative Culinary

Ingredients:

1 Pineapple

1/4 c. Brown sugar

Mint leaves

2 oz. Tito's Vodka

1 oz. Dole Pineapple Juice

3 oz. Barritt's Ginger Beer

Juice of one lime

Mint

Lime wedges

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Chop pineapple into 1/2 inch pieces, coat with brown sugar and roast for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and toss before roasting for another 10 minutes. Let pineapple cool. Muddle two tablespoons of the roasted pineapple and three mint leaves in a cocktail shaker. Add vodka, pineapple juice and lime juice. Fill with ice and shake until cold. Fill two copper mugs with ice and evenly split mixture between the two. Top with Barritt's Ginger Beer and garnish with a sprig of mint, lime wedge and roasted pineapple.
