Play Ball with Barritt's and These Baseball Cocktail Recipes
Whether it’s the smell of fresh cut grass, the peanuts and ballpark dogs, or “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” on repeat, something about the return of baseball season gets us giddy.
America's favorite pastime has it all... love and war, hope and heartbreak, and, of course, great food and amazing drinks. Especially when Barritt's is on the roster as the mixer of choice.
Here are some baseball cocktail recipes sure to be a "hit" on game days...
The Major League Mule
A cocktail as classic as America’s most loved sport.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 2 T simple syrup
- 8 mint leaves
- 3/4 cup Barritt’s Ginger Beer
- 2 oz Tito’s Vodka
- Crushed Ice
Directions:
Fill copper mug with ice. Muddle mint leaves in lemon juice and simple syrup. Pour into mug. Top with Barritt's Ginger Beer and vodka. Stir to combine. Garnish with extra mint and lemon slice. Serving size: One glass.
The Home Run Highball
Inspired by Babe Ruth who was as famous for “hitting long balls” as he was for “downing highballs.”
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Jameson Whiskey
- 1 bottle Barritt’s Ginger Beer
- Lemon Peels
Directions:
Fill chilled glass with ice and add whiskey. Top with Barritt's Ginger Beer and stir to combine. Garnish with lemon peel. Serving size: One glass.
The Ketel One Cleanup
In baseball, the cleanup is the fourth batter in the batting order, usually a power hitter like this smooth, citrus-infused cocktail.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Ketel One Citron Vodka
- .5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- .25 oz Simple Syrup
- 1 oz Pineapple Juice
- 2 oz Barritt’s Ginger Beer
- .25 oz Aromatic Bitters
Directions:
Combine first four ingredients in a mixing glass. Shake with ice and strain into ice filled glass. Top with Barritt's Ginger Beer and a heavy float of bitters.
